I have been hoping for the same thing. According to the Subaru guys that I spoke with they claim they aren't going to bring it here. They are going to opt for the hybrid model instead because more Americans prefer hybrid gas models over diesel. Despite the success of the VW TDI they claim most car drivers are just turned off by the word diesel viewing them as loud and smoke bellowing polluters. Interestingly our own federal officials work against bring diesels here even the clean ones.

I'm still crossing my fingers as a Forester diesel would be the perfect vehicle for my commuting and towing needs.

Bad move on Subaru's part most of the people I talk to prefer the Mileage that comes with the Diesel models and are willing to pay the extra 30-50 cents a gallon because the mileage basically doubles.
