Airports in CT
I'm curious where the airports are in CT. If I were to move to Milford, how far away is the nearest airport?
Thanks!

Hmmm...I would say depending on where you're going, there's a good chance you'll be fine with New Haven Regional. However, some of the less common slots will require a trip to LaGaurdia, or if you're really unlucky, JFK.
Honestly, depending on traffic, if New Haven won't do it, I would check Bradley in Windsor Locks before a NY airport.

Depending on where you are flying you also have the option of Westchester County Airport in White Plains or Stewart in Newburgh, NY. Bradley is a nice airport to fly in and out of. Much easier than the NYC airports. You can also consider Newark so there are a lot of options

Also the Westchester County airport is a great alternative if your destination works with them. They do have very reasonable JetBlue flights.
In Newburgh, there is Stewart International Airport. This is the easiest, most convenient (not the closest though) airport that I've ever been through. The luggage belt is a 2 minute walk to the parking lot. They also offer very reasonable flights on JetBlue and AirTran.
I'd stay away from JFK...it can be a nightmare. LGA isn't bad, and there is also Newark Intl (I'm flying out of there next Tuesday) that has always been great with prices and convenience, though it's a bit further.

I would avoid NY at all costs. Westchester is an easier airport...but traveling on I-95 and the Merritt Parkway in lower Fairfield County to get to Westchester can be a nightmare in itself. If you dont mind a connection..Tweed in New Haven is OK, but there is only one carrier (US Air). Bradley (Hartford-Windsor Locks CT) has a good non-stop flight selection (LA, Vegas, Phoenix, Miami, San Juan, Toronto) and an about an 1:15 to 1:30 ride from Milford. Much easier than the NY airports.

untuchableface,
I'm in your area and our family's default airport has always been "Hartford-Springfield" Bradley International. Just hop on the Merritt/Wilbur Cross or I95 to I91 and you should be there in about an hour. It is the most convenient airport for your (our) location, offering the widest selection at the most reasonable distance.
[My only beef with Bradley is that JetBlue does not fly out of it (despite that JetBlue's new ad campaign is "The official airline of Springfield," yet they don't fly out of the original Springfield: Springfield, MA, i.e. BRADLEY INTERNATIONAL).]
As mentioned, there are other airports in the area but they are much more limited. Tweed Airport in New Haven (East Haven, actually) has one carrier and a very limited selection. Flights out of there don't go farther than Washington DC, generally. Westchester and Newburgh are nice airports and have a slightly wider selection, but not as wide as Bradley.
The three NYC airports are also options, but as many here said, they may be more trouble than worth, all things considered.
Hope I've helped! Take care,

Be careful with these airports, however, *IF* you're a big JetBlue fan. Jeremy is right, the flights are very inexpensive but they ONLY go to Florida. JetBlue only leaves those two airports for Orlando, West Palm and Ft. Lauderdale. I don't know about other airlines.
I know it's splitting hairs there but it actually can be a big deal for those of us who rack up JetBlue miles on our AmEx cards and like to fly exclusively with them.
