As I gear up to look at housing in CT again, I'm contemplating selecting healthcare providers from the Hartford Hospital network.

We will be looking to live in the Farmington Valley, and some concerns about Hartford are quality of care, hospital cleanliness and how state-of-the-art and up to date they are, how easy it is to get there from the Valley, etc.

I found that in the past, John Dempsey was convenient, but there were long wait times for appointments, and the hospital and clinics were not the cleanest and in need of updating.

Opinions welcomed, thanks in advance

I use Hartford Hospital groups for all of my health care. I have been in recovery from a serious health condition and found the doctors and nurses to be excellent, the appointment wait times reasonable and the facilities convenient.

John Dempsey is after all, government run healthcare. If it's substandard now, imagine when it's the only option. Sigh...

Thanks for your input... hope that you are doing well

They seem to have a better selection of doctors from what I can tell online.

DW has reason to visit and see the care given at hospitals throughout the state. BY FAR, Hartford Hospital is the way to go. Believe me she knows. Jay

been to Hartford Hospital, St. Francis AND John Dempsey over in Farmington, I think they all seem the same. I've been to the ER at both HH and St. F, and St. Francis has changed in the times I"ve been there. only been to HH about two times, and they seemed faster, never been to John Dempsey

Hartford Hospital, hands down. They train more surgeons on the DaVinci robotic surgical system that any other facility in the US. I had surgery there two years ago and it was top notch.
