Talking looking for a nice affordable town with a NYC commute

We are looking for a home in CT.

NJ is another option but we like CT more (the homes, areas and overall lifestyle seems to fit what we are looking for much better)

price range is 350k-425k

close to trains for commute to NYC.

Also if anyone knows of a good school in CT that has a graduate program for Computer Science can you drop me a line. thanks.

andyh428 - Welcome to CT. Your price range will not buy a lot of house in southwestern Connecticut. Fairifled County is one of the most expensive places to live in the country and homes in suburbs like Greenwich or Darien are lot more than that. You could find something for that price in Stamford or Norwalk or consider going out a bit further to Fairfield (about 70 minutes to Grand Central). Fairfiedl has excellent schools and just about everything you would want. For your price you could get a nice but modest home in the up and coming Tunxis hill neighborhood. Another are to consider is Danbury. Many commute out of Brewster or a neighboring town. I hope this helps, Jay
