Last night, we ordered from Pellicci's on Stillwater. This place has been in Stamford forever. I hadn't had their pizza in 20 years, and it was better than I remember. The crust was still crispy, which is uncommon in delivery pizza. I'm sure it tastes even better there.
Anyone really looking for adventure in pizza, try making your own. I know the local Grade A supermarkets make regular and whole wheat dough. Obviously they sell the rest of the ingredients and pans as well. It took me 2 or three attempts to get the right temperature and timing. Well worth it if you like to cook.

Don't forget Modern Pizza in New Haven as well. Some locals (and non-locals) like Modern better than Pepe's or Sally's.
Also note that you do not have to travel to New Haven to sample Pepe's. They have a reataurant in Fairfield (on Commerce Drive) now and another soon to open in Manchester (on Buckland Hills Drive opposite the mall). Jay

I may get some moans and groans, but I love Tony's Pizza on Strawberry Hill Avenue in Stamford. It has the best "old school" taste for me. Reminds me of grabbing a slice when I was a kid.

I work in Stamford and I am from NYC, grew up in Manhattan and i really enjoy Atlantic pizza in the stamford dowtown area... sometimes its hit or miss the same pizza can taste GREAT one day and be mediocre the next but its worth a try! They also have online ordering which is great! they cut their pizzas into small squares also which i personally like bcause i can avoid the middle portions and eat the the crusts, its also good for kids who will not eat a LARGE slice but can eat a small square!

Colony Pizza is a total dive. Spazzio's is pretty decent and so is Luigi's on High Ridge Road. There is also a place called DiNardo's which is a few minutes across into the NY border in Scott's Corners.

No question...Mario The Baker on High Ridge, hands down!
I grew up in Stamford and it was then and still is the best pizza in town.
