I was on Main St today in Middletown and noticed new construction next to Ei Cannons. Anyone know what is going up there? I would guess it's a parking garage as it seems like it's being built on the former parking lot for Eli Cannon's.

I think it's a parking garage. I buy coffee at O'Rourke's Diner whenever I'm in the area, I was there a few weeks ago and I saw it, and it sure looks like that's what it is. Seems like an unusual place to have it IMO. I know that area well & I know it can get crowded, but still. We'll find out soon enough.

Parking garage. Was some controversy when it was being pushed through, but it got passed. We need good parking, but a parking garage seems out of character with the street.

I think it's actually the new Community Health Center building.
CHC Construction Cameras

City sold the parking lot to them for a dollar. Not sure what the plan is for parking, since it's a pretty big building.

I don't think so. Thye are building their new center at the corner of Main Street and Grand Street to the north. I think the building being built next to Eli Cannon's is going to be a parking garage. The city received federal money for one that was suppose to be over by City Hall but they moved it to this location. Jay

That's what I thought too... but if you switch the webcam to full-size, isn't that a very small-looking Eli's on the right side of the first image?

I checked the webcam too and the small building with the red bricks to the right is certainly Eli Cannon's. Looks like it's not a parking garage. Makes me wonder what they will do for parking though as there's not much space in that area.

You might be right. I might be off on which block the garage is.
