How did we get here?

No ones bashing...were sold on Somers.

The original post (not mine)was about the town of Tolland not the county.

I do agree having spent time with the locals.
Taxes are fairly high for that area.

Troll territory.

I never bash

I am frank and up front-

If you have sold in LI- congrats- I am sure you will find peace, and relaxation.
Somers is a great town- you and your family will enjoy it totally.

What kind of home have you decided upon in Somers?

Best of luck-

If you follow 190 east of central Somers you will be on your way to Stafford Springs- while to the west near Hazardville in Hartford county.

In any case- I feel you will love it in Somers- I see many NY State and NJ plates here in Vernon- they look so relaxed.

Good luck-

2006 median Tolland home sale price
$286,000
2006 Tolland County Median sales price
$240,000

Almost a 20% higher difference

To compare to town of Ellington with similar population
Ellington median sales price: $250,000

Ellington per capita taxes $1,627
Tolland per capita taxes $2,116

Ellington mill rate in 2005: 32.7
Tolland mill rate in 2005: 35.40

Clam is right that the town of Tolland does not relflect the rest of Tolland County price wise as it is more expensive in both housing and taxes.

Thank you for the information- and clarifying this question.
There is a difference between the county (Tolland) and the actual town. It is substantial- Tolland county-minus the town is less money- hopefully Clam accepts my apology.
