Default I saw a Busway today...

I am in Charlotte and saw an elevated dedicated busway, similar to what is going to be done from New Britain to Hartford.

I didn't have time to do an in-depth study, but, from what I could see it looks like viable transportation. (I still don't think the New Britain-Hartford route is smart). From where I was, I initially thought it was a light rail system. I passed under a 'station' and watched 2 buses arrived. If I hadn't read the signs, it seems to function just like a train-- dedicated lane in each direction, specific stops, much like light rail stations.

For what it's worth, it wasn't anything like I had imagined.

Charlotte doesn't have a Busway....yet...its not even Under Construction. An Elevated Busway is wasteful , just like an Elevated LRT line.....its better to have it at Ground level for easier access. A Busway is no where near a Monorail.....look at the ones in the Cascadia Megapolis...

If you really want to see a busway and not travel too far, there's one in Boston. To make it sound like a subway, it's called the "Silver Line" of the "T".
