Bus line into the city? In case you do not realize it, there are buses but they must travel on very heavily used highways. They are unreliable and take hours. Jay

This is a commuter rail line and one that is the busiest in the country. Commuter rail lines have a lot of stations to serve the people along the corridor. Jay

The first train stops there at 4:37 AM. are you going to be on it? I was at the station and it really is nice. It will be great to see it in a couple of years when more buildings are there. Jay

I know that...but do we need stops every 2 miles? People can drive a couple miles for the station. For those of us beyond Fairfield, each station adds another 5 to 10mins. Why couldnt they have just 2 stops instead of the 4 (atleast for peak hours) - all they needed to do was build a garage instead of a whole new station in Fairfield.

I will not be on that first train!

It feels strange to be going to another station after using the downtown station for 16 years. It dawned on me driving there Friday that that would be my last time commuting from there. I was ambivalent about changing stations, but I was afraid that they might cut back service to the downtown station if the new one became the main Fairfield station, and I didn't want to be tied to a Southport-type station that isn't served by the express trains. Also, the new station is considerably closer to my house, though I had some reservations about the fact that it's right on the border with Bridgeport, as far as car breakins are concerned. Time will tell.

Nobody wants to ride a Bus. It's bad enough I have to ride a train. A simple PARKING GARAGE fixes 100% of the problems for 100% of the people.

Because this backward town won't simply add a parking garage.

The new station site seems a logical spot for a large parking garage.

I agree. It would not be out of scale with the surrounding buildings like it would at Fairfield Center. Jay
