Since the increased income tax is retroactive, just got my revised paycheck.

I don't know about anyone else but I've got about $200 cut out of my paycheck every month now for the rest of the year.

I guess I didn't realize what a hike it was. I figure it's going to work out to about a $80 a month next year.

Who else got a nice surprise?

Well you probably earn more income than I do. For me, I was pleasantly surprised at how low of an impact the tax increase had on my paycheck. During the retroactive period for me, only $13.51 extra is taken out from the tax. But after Jan 1, 2012, it will only be $5.72 less per paycheck. Big whoop.

I agree - you must be making more than me also. I only saw a difference of $1.30.

Between the two of us, we're looking at about $350 less per month.

This WILL make a difference in my spending, which directly affects the economy of CT. I'll be contributing less to our GDP and also our sales tax.

I spend well, but I also put aside a given amount per month.

I always owe, so it's just that I owe more now. Wonderful.

Property taxes are my biggest boogie man. 21 grand one year not including vehicles. Doing business here with any kind of expensive equipment sucks. Well fuel too. $3650 last year in fuel TAX.

I'm about to jump into hyper greedy unchecked capitalist mode and make as much money as I can without giving a crap because I'm sick of "doing the right thing" and just making ends meet. I'm not joking.
