I know it's not much better once you get near White Plains, but you could always take 91-691-84-684. Commuting through Danbury is much easier than commuting through Stamford.

Very true. Such a long drive though.

yeah then I still end up on 287 and can then take sprain down to cross bronx or 287 east to 95 or the Hutch, don't know what that's like but doesn't sound to appealing

Ferry it is.....and drive home around 8PM after that other nightmare of the PM rush is over.

You should be good after 8PM, but you will encounter bad traffic occasionally so always check live traffic on Google Maps or get a GPS with live traffic (not the cheaper ones though, as they can't compute traffic very far in advance and aren't as "smart" in rerouting). That way you can take the best route possible, which will probably be Throg's>95>287>684>84 most of the time.

I would advise taking route is take route 3 connector to 91 and take exit 17 to merritt and take route 8 and whichever Bport exit is most viable. Although Route 8 will have some traffic around 9 milford pkwy can be jammed too. This should run you about 75 mins if you start at 8 am.

Traffic on merritt is heavy usually around 630am-8am (south) and 4pm-6pm (north) past orange.

Been making the commute for over a year at all times of the morning and evening rush hour and have NEVER seen it jammed. Southbound is always pretty light.

Though pricey, I think you're pretty smart going the ferry route. It's insane down here in the morning.....

But coming back after 8pm should work for you. Good luck!

Put it this way. I drove from Lexington, KY to CT with no traffic up untill Greenwich, CT. It took me two and a half hours to drive to Guilford: exit 59. The traffic is a nightmare no matter when!
