Why is it that certain members of the right are the first to scream "Freedom!", and the first to limit it when they don't agree?
Once they clash with the police, which they've already done, they are no longer 'peaceful', and thus no longer protected under the constitution. The ones down here are already on borrowed time. Besides, they are A) on private property (the park) and B) do not have any of the required permits. Once the city is done paying for them...they're done. This is as much a show for the city, as it is for them.

They'll just move somewhere public (which is where they should have been in the first place).

They didn't "clash" with the police. The police arrested those who were blocking the street (which was overblown by the media). If the clash becomes serious then I agree with you - get rid of 'em. But it hasn't been that serious, contrary to what some want us to believe.

They can't go anywhere public, because they do not have permits, which you need in NYC to have an assembly of that size. That's why they are in Zucotti in the first place.

Then I'd be interested to see if they get the proper permits. Knowing NYC, they'll be granted.

No I don't think so. I very much doubt they have the means to acquire them. Lot's of greasing of the wheels needs to get done, and NYC is already sick of them. Time to move on. If they haven't made their point by now, they never will.

That is of course, unless they want to grow a set, and ACTUALLY be protesters. You know, the kind that really don't care what the cops say. The kind they claim to be modelling themselves after in the middle east. Somehow I doubt it though.

Sorry, we live in a society with rules. One of those rules, is you need to have a permit to assemble in a public park. They chose not to do that. So now they can either go home, or start breaking some laws.

So, you WANT them to go Cairo-London style on our police? I'm a little confused. First, they're not following the "rules" and should be booted because of it. Now, they're 'pooseys' and aren't loud enough? Or do you just want them to get nasty so you can sit back and say "ha! told ya so"...? I don't get your reasoning.

By the way, they cleaned the park themselves and are allowed to stay - for now.

I want them to get a taste of what they are comparing themselves to (the middle east). Look at how THOSE cops treat unrulies.

Nasty rioting broke out, innocent people were injured, cops were injured, buildings were burned, etc.

Nice, real nice.
