I just wanted a nice steak and cheese sandwich at Hubba Hubba today in Stamford. Just a few towns over (6 exits or 8 miles).. IT TOOK 1 HOUR round trip.(not including eating there). Even Saturdays are a disaster. What should have been a quick 30 minute ride turned into an hour.

Here's a ground shot at that time.

Saturday May 12, 2012 12:30pm

But looking at the webcams right now it doesnt seem all that bad EXCEPT for Stamford, Darien, Norwalk, Westport. And Boston Post Road was jammed too.

There was an accident today on 95 North bound near the Harbor Yard. I hope the person wasn't hurt bad and I felt terrible for all those people stuck in the traffic.

NorthBound on I-95 Exit 51. Two-vechicle accident on Frontage Road involving a bus and a truck. Cars were squeezing by the area...

Tuesday 5/14/12 5:30pm.

No green in the northbound lane of Merrit..or I-95. Ugh. And look closely at I-95.it starts in CT...not Westchester, NY

Though accidents and the heavy rain were a factor, was driving southbound on I-95 about 3:45pm today. Backed up from exit 9 in east Stamford all the way to Port Chester, NY. Other side had two big tractor trailers downed between exits 5 and 6 on the Greenwich/Stamford line, was backed up all the way from Rye, NY

4:30pm. Monday May 21, 2012.

Riding smoothly on Merrit south heading into greenwich was hoping for a smooth return ride north. What a mess. Standstill and bumper to bumper all the way from Greenwich northbound.. not even going 30mph in the open pockets.

So how the hell do I travel back north to get to Milford now by 6pm. Ugh.

I was expecting a nightmare ride home last night when I saw this pic you posted.......but I hit the Merritt at 6:15 and got home at 7:20. Thakfully the traffic was all gone for me.

Good luck folks on I-95. I dont see any accidents. This is just congestion. Looks like it clears up after Norwalk.
