I know that 7. But from the metro north perspective, resolved. It's pretty widely published that the evening delays were Obama related. It was even announced as such on the train. Stamford police and mta tweets further validate. Fwiw no issues on metro north at 7am despite the outages in Greenwich. I boarded in Sono.

Why have there never been any extensive studies done with regard to WHAT IN THE HELL is wrong with I-95? You won't ever catch me on it for any reason whatsoever. If I can drive AROUND it no matter how long it takes, I will do just that. I don't now anyone who hasn't at least had one fender bender on that wretched piece of road. It must be possessed or something!

Its mainly the Intercity Travelers who are causing the capacity issues in CT , NY , NJ , PA , DE , and MD....buses and cars all add up after a while. Also not investing in Rail Networks , everyone from the Heavily populated corridors are trying to travel to NYC or Westchester and all squeeze onto one highway. Same happens in NY , NJ , DE , PA , and MD. Restoring and Expanding each states Rail Network would take half the load of I-95 and other highways like Route 7 or the Merritt or I-91 and I-84. In NJ while the system isn't fully completed yet it carries 1.8 Million commuters , students and travelers....or 60% of the commuter population. Once the gaps in the growing areas are sealed it will grow to 4.6 Million daily commuters...and a larger decrease in drivers on 95 and other highways. CT once the Network is fully built out should see a similar benefit , another problem is they need to speed up connections between the Largest cities in the Northeast. The Airports are slow , at capacity and out of the way for most East Coast travelers. A New Northeast Corridor is in planning , and that will further reduce I-95 congestion. Which unchecked by 2030 could see 14-16hrs of congestion on a daily basis which would slowly cripple the Northeastern Economy...

Speaking of exit 5, it may have gotten mentioned already, but the town of Greenwich/state of Connecticut/whoever fixes traffic lights on US roads needs to do something with that traffic light..........................fast! I'm not sure what they can do, since its like a 6 way intersection (the exit ramps from 95 north & south, the entrance ramp to said highway, that side street off the left where the McDonalds entrance is, and of course route 1 all get seperate lights). Since the exit ramp from 95 south to the street isn't very long, if your coming off the highway, and just miss the light, your gonna be stuck there for quite some time, which causes a backlog of traffic which causes a backup on 95, because the people in the right lane are going 0 MPH because they've been waiting 10 minutes for that light to turn green. That exit, and exit 41 off the Merritt southbound (only during rush hours I've noticed) are the only 2 places I've ever seen where a traffic light at the end of an exit ramp causes a traffic jam on the highway.

You must be talking about Exit 5 SB right? I've seen it get backed up sometimes on the highway.. but then you get some people in the far left lane too scared to squeeze their car forward when they have lots of space.. So in the end they have like a 3-4 car gap.

That was my trip home Wednesday on the Merritt. Pretty much right at 5 right when I got on the highway at exit 33. Now that schools back in session, that will probably be like the rest of the days until Christmas wah
