Huh? Plenty? I'm not sure you are reading the same chart I am. There were two years (03/04) where we had some issues with Hartford residents coming to town and causing trouble but that was squashed quickly...and moreover it wasn't much beyond national averages.

According to City Data here: http://www.city-data.com/city/Manche...nnecticut.html

Manchester in Robbery, Assault, Rapes etc has been well below national averages in the last 11 years. Click the table and see corresponding chart below it.

Murders...4 in 11 years is "bad"? (However in 10 they did include the freak workplace incident from Hartford Distributors which obviously does NOT reflect crime in the city.) Also, the "assaults" and "theft" is mall area related. There is a scuffle among Sat night thugs from Hartford and guess what...it's an assault. Same for petite theft.

West Hartford's statistics are not that different and in fact higher in some for reference. There were more murders in both West Hartford and Windsor in the last 11 years.

I'm not saying the town is angelic, but "plenty" is a word I would never use.

Any proof that all the violent crime or even most or even significant percentage of the crime was by Hartford residents? When I said plenty I meant in absolute terms. I saw the chart and violent crime wasn't an anomaly. America is a particularly violent place though so many towns will have similar stats.

I understand this was some witless attempt at humor. But compared to Europe and even some developing nations America has a terribly high violent crime rate.

Grumble.

I'll start using Cor D'Ivorie from now on. Twice the sophistication, 100% of the lawlessness.
