Pretty sure the majority of casino revenue is slot-based though.

Yea pretty much. "Lets balance the budget by increasing the cigarette tax to $4.00 per pack" All the while promoting people to quit smoking.

When I lived in MA, back when Romney was running for governer, he was on WAAF radio. A caller asked "do you plan to balance the state budget on the backs of the poor?"

And his response was "That's a bit of a loaded question, but of course not, we have all sorts of revenue streams we can look at. There's Keno, and lottery ticket sales"

All they have to do, is legalize sports gambling (join the fight that is going on in washington right now), and demand the Indian casinos share a bigger part of the revenue derived from it. It would be a windfall for CT.

I think Mohegan's will be ok. They're established in PA, and I believe have dibs on the casino in Palmer.

Foxwoods deal fell through in Philly a few years back, and they're not exactly "just off" the highway from any direction.

I think the PA Sands in Bethlehem has PA pretty covered. You can't even get a suite there (on a weekend) if you want to pay for it. They hold them for high rollers only. Oddly enough, they are very cheap, but they still hold them for whales. Sometimes if you call on Thursday they will release them for that weekend.

I doubt it. Mohegans will do fine.

Were you aware that the stop smoking campaign in CT only began very recently? Our former AG was knee-deep in the MSA agreements that were negotiated(quite awhile ago) with tobacco manufacturers to provide the funding for PSA's and quitting tools, yet, CT never implemented any programs while Bloomers was our AG.
