I would suggest you speak to the real estate agent that showed you the property to find out if the quarterly taxes are included in the taxes shown in the MLS. I really doubt taxes would be $8000 a year for one of those condos, but you should ask to be sure. Here's a link for Northbrook:

The area is nice and quiet, the condos are set far enough away from Rt. 25 so traffic sounds are not an issue. But if good schools are not important, you might want to consider Danbury. Of course then you'll pay extra for gas and wear and tear on your car if you have to commute, though.
