Trying to find restaurants in the Hartford area that can accommodate 20-30 people with preferably private space that gives the group adequate room to move around and meet one another.

Ideally the restaurant would offer things like:

- a group/party menu
- separate checks
- other activities (pool tables, etc?)

Any recommendations?

City Steam. They can do this easily. Fresh brewed beer, great food, pool tables, Foosball etc great atmosphere/decore even a comedy club downstairs if you want to take in a show as part of it. They can give you a section of the restaurant for yourself (It's huge) or even a private room if that's what you want.

Parking at the Morgan Street garage is plentiful and only about a couple block walk at most. Easy.

Welcome to CITY STEAM Brewery Cafe

I'll send you a PM with some direct contact info...they are a customer of mine so I'll get you right in with the right person to accommodate.

Casa Mia (on Franklin Ave.) also deals well with groups. I should say that I have only been there with a pre-set "banquet" menu for the group, so I'm not sure about the separate checks, but you could ask. Also not sure about other activities. Good food, though, and lots of space for groups.

I agree, City Steam has the perfect party space- my company has done a few parties there and the space works out nicely for mingling, playing pool, etc. in their private room that has its own little bar and dedicated bartender. We usually do hors d'oeuvre stations set up on a few tables with a cash bar and it works out nicely.

Arch St Tavern, Firebox, Plan B Glastonbury, Salute or Max Downtown should be ok.
