Anyone know what it was?

Almost a dozen cops with lights flashing, 4-5 buses, and a few vans. Going about 80 in the left lane with hazards blinking heading north.

Well, it's Maine primary time and Mitt Romney & Ron Paul have physically arrived in the state. I'd venture a guess that the convoy was somehow involved with either or both campaigns ( outside staff, security teams, press, logistics, etc.)

Can't think of anything else going on regionally that would warrant a police escort.

I would expect campaign buses to be prominently labelled though.

They just looked like chartered buses. Logo of the bus company on them. Didn't look like tour coaches or anything though. Something privately chartered.

The vans were black.

Very strange.
