360 is pretty full at the moment, and filled up ahead of schedule - but I've heard that a good percentage of the units are "affordable". Something like 30%. Must've been part of the zoning approval.

Yeah, 27 of the studios are available for $1000/mo rather than $1400-1800, and there are some other units reserved for section 8.

Welcome to the City of New Haven Economic Development

I couldn't find a single unit available on their website, which is impressive. For a long time, the larger penthouse units were empty since they cost $4k/mo.

They're permanently closing Exit 2 on Route 34 for the Downtown Crossing project on Friday (July 11th).

Guess we'll officially see how bad this whole plan screws up traffic.

Top 10 New Haven Development projects:

If you wait a couple of months in New Haven these days there are just too many new developments announced. What are people's current Top 10 New Haven Development projects? I'm ranking these projects based on which I think will have the greatest economic impact or cultural impact, with more weight to projects that are currently under construction and/or new construction; less weight based on lack of certainty of project:

1-Alexion Pharmaceutical HQ: currently under construction (new) College St at MLK (700+ new jobs)
2-College/George St Apartments: currently under construction (new) College St at George (125 units + ground level retail)
3-Chapel/Howe St Apartments: currently under construction (new) Chapel St at Howe (125 units + ground level retail)
4-Winchester Apartments: currently under construction (renovate of vacant bldg) Newhawllville (125 + units near Higher One)
5-Wooster Sq Apartments at Comcast bldg; Chapel at Olive St; will be new construction.
6-Wooster Sq Apartments at Union and Olive St: will be new construction
7-Hotel- Marriott Residence Inn: will be 115 rooms, new construction. Elm St at Howe St
8-Bella Vista senior housing complex: will be two additional 19 story housing developments (new construction)
9-Coliseum block development: proposed hotel, office, housing, retail development (pending state infrastructure funds)
10-Farmington Canal Linear Park completion: will route below street level under Temple, Whitney, exiting at Orange St.

Honorable mentions to: Union Trust building conversion to apartments at New Haven Green (is this under construction?); Boathouse at Canal Dock/Long Wharf (funding needed for completion); new apartment complex at Wooster Square in the Smoothie Building lot; new housing development at State St/Star complex; new Food Network star restaurant on Park St; apartment complex addition on top of Crown St garage at High St...
