This is the building next to Box 63, which has apparently been empty since it was built in 2006.

Church to expand with new center | Yale Daily News (2004 article)
Quote:
The church’s plans for the center on Park Street have expanded tenfold ... It will now be built south of the chapel on a 35,000 square foot swath of land the University is leasing to the church for $20 over the next 99 years. In exchange, St. Thomas More will construct a retail-and-office complex at 278-282 Park Street, north of the chapel, for University tenants to occupy.
Always amazes me that Yale will leave retail empty for so long. Their list of available properties to lease is a mile long.

They hold out for the best tenants that will do long term leasing. Like the building Shake Shack is in now that was empty for 11 years prior.

I appreciate the 280 Crown Street conversion/rehab:

Here's some google map shots-- I think this will turn out really nice, actually. The large windows will be a great feature.

Crown/High:

Crown St:

High St:

Now the parking lot diagonal of the conversion building needs to get something...

I'm sure many parking lots will get developed in the next 5 years.

I always have trouble figuring out what neighborhood I'm in when I'm in New Haven. What neighborhood would Modern Apizza be considered?
