Default Probation

I was interested in becoming a probation officer in Connecticut (anywhere in Connecticut). I would prefer to work with adults, but I wouldn't mind juvenile probation. Does anyone know what it is like to work as a probation officer in Connecticut and/or the application process? What are they looking for in applicants? Advance degrees? Probation experience? Social work experience? If so approximately how many years of experience? What is the interview like? Is there an exam you have to pass? I applied for a posting they had in July. The posting stated a bachelors degree was required as a minimum qualification (I am sure they received thousands of applications). They never contacted me so I am assuming I will need to supplement my profile in the future to get in. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
