Default Help please

I tried this posting on the Connecticut forum , but nobody responded. Sometimes I think that people only respond when they see others respond. I always respect the first person to respond. If you notice most posts either have 2 or 50 people responding. Anyway to my question. I was interested in becoming a probation officer in Connecticut (anywhere in Connecticut). I would prefer to work with adults, but I wouldn't mind juvenile probation. Does anyone know what it is like to work as a probation officer in Connecticut and/or the application process? What are they looking for in applicants? Advance degrees? Probation experience? Social work experience? If so approximately how many years of experience? What is the interview like? Is there an exam you have to pass? I applied for a posting they had in July. The posting stated a bachelors degree was required as a minimum qualification (I am sure they received thousands of applications). They never contacted me so I am assuming I will need to supplement my profile in the future to get in. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I do not know much about being a probation officer in CT - I did have a professor that was an officer in Stamford and I know he said that he dealt with a good number of cases at any given time. He did say it wasn't an easy job.

Hopefully someone here can help you out a little better.

I am sorry no one responded to your other post. I am sure that if anyone here was able to help you they would have. Everyone here is usually very helpful of requests, but yours was very specific and needed a very specific response. Good luck, Jay
