Default Commute by train to Waterbury & Derby from Beacon Falls or close?

I will be working at Griffin Hospital and St Mary's hospital for about 6 months coming in Jan. Is is possible to commute by train from say, beacon falls or other middle city so I can get to Waterbury and Derby without having to travel to far? Thanks for the help!!

Train service in the Naugatuck valley is somewhat limited and the hospitals are not located that close to the stations you need to use. Check the train schedule on the Metro-north web site to see if there are trains that suit your schedule. Then check map quest for the distances between the stations and the hospitals. I suspect you would be better off if you have a car to travel with. Jay

I agree. The Waterbury Branch of Metro North is primarily designed for commuters traveling to Stamford and New York. It's a single track line and offers very limited service.

If you're working in Derby and Waterbury and living in between, then I recommend driving to Griffin Hospital and Saint Mary's. Both hospitals are accessible off Route 8, and Route 8 itself is not heavily congested in this area, even during rush hour.
