I like the "miss you" beach photo - but how about making that the cover of a "Connecticut Album"? Drive around the state, from the Old Saybrook lighthouse to the Cornwall Bridge, snap pictures and make a photo album. Not only would you have a cool gift, but you would be able to see many parts of the state that perhaps you haven't before.

See List Of Things To Do and See in CT for ideas.

I loved the beach photo, too and the photo album idea. Also, some years back I bought a great little paperback book at Barnes and Noble "Connecticut Off the Beaten Path: and also one called "Connecticut Curiosities", all short paragraphs of things around the state. On the cover of one of the books is the Frog Bridge in Willimantic. I am sure the books are still available. The "Off the Beaten Path" is part of a series about various states. I have a few of them, which I found at Ocean State Job Lot, for a very reduced price, but the Connecticut one was bought at Barnes and Noble.

I appreciate all of the great ideas. I did get an historic map of our town framed and I think I'll send them off with some CT wine. But next time, I'm using jane_sm1th73's idea - the last few weeks just got away from me and I didn't have a chance to put it together. Great ideas everyone - thanks!
