Yeah I think the camera you picked in Florida is pretty far outside of the core of Orlando if I am reading the map correctly. Still traffic on I-95 is not great. Jay

Bad location and bad time. A lot gets debated on these forums about traffic in various cities. Fact is that there are stretches of road in many cities in America that can rival the worst in large cities. Big cities just have more of them and the congestion is longer in both time period and distance. For someone traveling along that bad stretch, it might as well be NYC.

I-4 at rush hour is bumper to bumper stop and go. The difference between it and I-95 is that the congested period on I-95 lasts longer, and you are probably traveling in it for more miles. But, if you are on I-4 at rush hour, you will not feel much different than if you were up in LA, NYC, or DC. Stop, drive 20 feet, stop, drive 20 feet feels the same no matter where you are. It doesn't matter if every other road in town is clear, if the road you have to take is stop and go it pretty much bites as much as it does anywhere else.

Many of the large complexes in Stamford provide transportation to and from the train station. It's something worth asking about when you inquire-- It's one more convenience and one less thing to worry about.

Stamford is a good choice. Good luck on your move.

Shoot, I think I posted my reply in the wrong thread. IMO, Stamford is a GREAT location for you! It has grown over the years precisely because it is situated so well for people in your position - a less congested alternative to living in NYC, with a critical mass in Finance. Therefore it has also birthed businesses that are commuter-sensitive: nightlife, arts, professional organizations for networking, and very good infrastructure for kids (educationally speaking).

Best wishes to you and Mrs. Joshy!

I highlighted your comment which is the flaw around here... Its not just rush hour. Just left a post of my trip trying to get a sandwich 2 towns over.(7 miles away)
