My daughter is starting school in late August at Sacred Heart University. We are on the west coast but will be relocating this summer to the Fairfield area. I want to purchase some of her dorm supplies at IKEA and would rather wait to get them once we have moved. I am wondering how long it will take for us to get from SHU, or surrounding area, to the IKEA in New Haven? Mapquest says it will take about 28 min. but I know that can be iffy with traffic etc.
Maybe I am jaded coming from SO. Cal.
Will it really only take 30 min. to get there?

Unless you plan on going during the morning commute, yes 30 minutes no problem.

Even the morning commute isn't terrible. 10 minute delay tops.

You might hit a little slowdown in West Haven but that's about it. You'll be fine.

Thank you! Just wanted to be sure to give ourselves plenty of time. In So. Cal. a 30 min ride can sometimes take over an hour on certain freeways.

As long as you don't go between 3-7:00 p.m. M-F, 30 minutes shouldn't be a problem.
