Default Any recommended apartments in New London, Groton area?

Did some research and saw quite a few offerings with reasonable rent in Colchester and Norwich, less than $1000/month for a 1 bedroom apartment, but found that in New London and Groton, rent was a little more expensive. However, there were a few for around $1000.

Just wondering if anyone had any recommendations in New London or Groton, as I didn't see any in nearby Waterford. I hesitate to name the complexes we have in mind now, just want to see if anyone had experience with any complexes in the New London-Groton area, but if it'll help, I'll name the places if it's appropriate to do so here (considering if we're allowed to ask for reviews of apartments in this forum). Thanks in advance!

Waterford has no apartment complexes, but you can usually find rentals in condos. Rope Ferry condos on Rope Ferry Rd, usually has a couple/ few 1-2 bedroom units available. Pretty complex with tennis courts, ponds, jogging trail. Landlord pays the condo fees. Work with a realtor to find any. Doesn't cost you anything- landlord pays the realty fee. Check online- you may be able to find something.

I'd avoid anything in New London north of Lawrence and Memorial Hospital. You may find rentals in Gull Harbor which is down off Ocean Ave. It's a decent area.

Although you might want to check Eagle Point in New London. It's way up in northwest New London at the Waterford town line. Street is called Michael Rd. It's an inexpensive area but is OK.

Lots of apartments in Groton. I've been in LaTriomphe and Country Glen. Not to rent, just to visit. They're nice and I'd find the areas acceptable. In the market I guess they are considered to be "luxury" whatever that means.

I would avoid Phoenix as it's on a busy, busy commercial street and near the highway. Really not a residential area if you value peace and quiet.
Long Meadow Landing is also nice, but it's on South Rd. which is the road ending at Groton/ New London airport. You will see and hear some air traffic, although it will be small prop planes and small corporate jets. That may or may not bother you.

Groton Estates- avoid- any neighborhood that needs a police sub station in the general area is not looking good.

Peppertree would also be OK. Across from a local park so may get noisy at time but the area is otherwise OK. .

I'm sure I'm leaving out tons of places, but that's what coming to mind at the moment. Shoreline is more expensive than inland- you're paying for proximity to the water.
