If you're interested in details how this Tropical system could affect us... Watch this guys video. He explains it piece by piece. Start at 3:45 . I like his thinking about where it should recurve.

Video really well done, dude knows his stuff about the weaker side on the west side, etc etc...I still think it's way too early to predict a track with any certainty with this one....just don't want to lose power again like August last year, 4 days, and I'm 30 miles inland, then again in October....

We shall see what develops with this one but it can go several different ways, or maybe even just miss us like Earl did in 2010

The 18Z GFS looks pretty warm for the rest of the month. It looks to be another month of above average temperatures. This does not surprise me at all.

Found this on the "Northeast Weather" Facebook blog.....interesting if true as A) It would virtually be on the anniversary of Irene, and B) it would probably be the storm with the "I" name. Though since it shows first landfall in FL as just a "tropical storm" would probably just be a much weaker "remnants" system up here:

Hurricane Update:

No way am I hyping this one like some are.

#1. GFS did NOT show it consistantly like it did with Irene
#2. It's slow to develop so its not even a storm yet
#3. Waters are cooler than last year( i believe)

This doesnt mean it cant come up the coast but to get hit by a hurricane is not what Im thinking...maaaybe Tropical Storm but even thats a long shot this year.

However... we will get rain from this and winds. Unless it stays OTS.

Now that we're under 10 days away we should start tracking it.

DeJaVu we were tracking Irene since mid August 2011.
