Temps at 4000' above our heads will be cold for this time of year and so it will keep the surface below normal as well. 850mb temps should be near 14C. Enjoy the dry clean air next couple days.

NWS Boston:

NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/...

A SURFACE COLD FRONT WAS IN THE PROCESS OF WORKING ACROSS EASTERN NEW ENGLAND VERY EARLY THIS MORNING...BUT WAS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH ANY PRECIPITATION AT THIS TIME.

850 MB TEMPS DROPPING BELOW 10C BEHIND THE COLD FRONT WILL RESULT IN TEMPS SEVERAL DEGREES BELOW NORMAL TODAY. HIGH TEMPS WILL RANGE FROM THE LOWER 70S ACROSS THE HIGHER TERRAIN...TO THE MIDDLE TO UPPER 70S ELSEWHERE WITH COMFORTABLE HUMIDITY LEVELS. WILL SEE A MIXTURE OF CLOUDS AND SUN TODAY...BUT A PERIOD OF MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES MAY OCCUR ACROSS THE INTERIOR. THIS A RESULT OF SOME STRATO- CUMULUS CLOUDS WORKING IN BEHIND THE COLD FRONT.

SHORT TERM /6 PM THIS EVENING THROUGH 6 PM THURSDAY/...

TONIGHT... HIGH PRESSURE WILL SLOWLY BUILD IN FROM THE WEST. THIS WILL ALLOW FOR DIMINISHING WIND AND SKIES TO BECOME MOSTLY CLEAR. GIVEN THE DRY AIRMASS IN PLACE...LOW TEMPS SHOULD BOTTOM OUT IN THE MIDDLE 40S IN THE NORMALLY COOLEST OUTLYING LOCATIONS. EVEN THE URBAN HEAT ISLANDS OF BOSTON/PROVIDENCE SHOULD SEE LOWS BOTTOM OUT IN THE MIDDLE TO UPPER 50S. SOME PATCHY GROUND FOG MAY DEVELOP IN THE TYPICALLY PRONE LOCATIONS...ESPECIALLY ACROSS THE INTERIOR. THURSDAY... HIGH PRESSURE IN CONTROL WILL RESULT IN MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES AND A BEAUTIFUL DAY. AFTER A COOL START...PLENTY OF SUNSHINE SHOULD ALLOW HIGHS TO RECOVER INTO THE LOWER TO MIDDLE 70S ACROSS THE INTERIOR HIGH TERRAIN AS WELL AS THE CAPE/ISLANDS. THE REST OF THE LOWER ELEVATIONS SHOULD SEE HIGHS IN THE MIDDLE TO UPPER 70S. HUMIDITIES WILL REMAIN LOW SO IT WILL BE ANOTHER COMFORTABLE DAY FOR OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES.

I see now that the long range forecasts have the possibility of those 90-degree temps and humidity coming back the middle of next week. I knew this stretch couldn't last all month......
