They must have short term memories or mentioning backyard stuff.

This is NOT including all the rain days. This is simply when Thunder, lightning happened within the state or NYC metro. I keep a weather journal so trust me on this. Most were "spotty" but I count that as "storms" because someone got lightning, thunder, hail, and a downpour and the atmosphere was ready for it.

That's an awfully large area, I'm more interested in Ct.'s weather.

Thats where I live and thats what the list is from. If Westchester got storms it doesnt mean CT did not. lmao Just like the time Hartford area got flash flooded and nobody else did not. Thats included because they got a "storm" with thunder and flooding. Plenty of storms this year but like I said, they were very spotty and not widespread in nature which is why people think no storms happened.

Put it this way, we've had a ton of alerts for storms this year. More than last year for sure.

As far as timing for the squall line/storms.. This is from the latest NAM4 model.

4pm the line is in central PA and Utica NY.
7pm the line is entering NJ and Albany.

By 10pm you can see the line break apart over SWCT and the coast but stay together over Central and Eastern

Keep in mind there are high chances storms will develop ahead and behind this line and this is not set in stone. As conditions change, so will the results of these models.

Storms already developing over NYC, NJ Long Island moving North.

That is a pretty ridiculous list. Wilton logged just five thunderstorms this spring/summer, defined as rain fall accompanies by claps of thunder. Only two had what I would consider bite to them. Well below seasonal averages. Quite a few lines disbanded before reaching the region.

Well, maybe you should expand your list to include all the storms in Massachusetts and Rhode Island too, since they also border Ct. Not all of us on the Ct. forum live in SWCt., you know. Storms don't always come from the west, too. Most of the time, but not always. I just don't understand your including the entire NYC metro region into Ct.'s list of storms. Are you including Long Island, Hudson Valley, and even eastern Pennsylvania as well? Or just NYC and Westchester?

Westchester because I "hear" the thunder from there. I can't write down I heard thunder from MA because I cant hear it from that far. LMAO!

Without Westchester... JUST CT looks like this. Not sure what you guys are debating. lmao. I can only do so much for you. Try to look it up. I'll help a little. May 27 was a Thunderstorm in Greenwich,. June 25 intense 8am thunderstorm in Norwalk. July 15 I-95 shut down Trees down on Merrit. Let me know if you find out the rest. I have it all written down and can confirm it. Hint: A lot of them happened in the morning. And 90% of these were around the Greenwich,Stamford,Darien,Norwalk,Wilton Area.
