Not at all Kid... There was no need to hit the panic button or even mention "during daytime hours".

Agreed, but that being said, you were wrong as well.

It poured on and off in the Sound as of 4 PM (I was boating).

I think that was pretty apparent when I talked about the rain around 10pm.

Also FWIW, I went back to my original post and it is truncated from the intended message. (Forgot) a word. I think most of you can agree than posting to C-D via an iPhone in particular is fraught with peril.

It's not a dig, but I enjoyed your boat bragging!

The sad part is where I was (out of town) they had the same forecast; when it was still sunny at 6pm we went to the fireworks show, even had a couple of storms "just miss" us, only for the storm to happen (and last awhile) just before the fireworks were to start

Seriously...its doesn't matter...the moral of the story is on a hot summer day ...ANY instability can cause a rain event. You were too definitive in saying no need to worry about rain..thats all I was pointing out. [/i]

Check this out.. From NWS Upton. Its always interesting to see Sea breezes when a storm is approaching. They are storm killers. They basically break apart storms (mostly near the coast). Obviously today there werent any storms but the sea breeze is apparent.

"Check out this graphic for interesting features that have been detected this evening by the various radars across the area. The JFK Terminal Doppler Radar detected the sea breeze this evening moving through western Long Island and the Long Island Sound breeze moving through parts of NYC. From our radar on eastern Long Island, a backdoor cold front moving in from New England can be seen over eastern Long Island Sound"
