That's for sure. We have to lock her in the laundry room while she chews away at it.

I enjoy discussing animals so I don't mind.

I left them a message on my way home from work today and I hope I can set up a time with them to come give an estimate.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Any news? Miss M. and I are getting anxious to run (somewhat) free.

Yes! Sorry I didn't update the thread. They're going to come down on Saturday morning to give an estimate. I scheduled them an hour before Paragon fence, so hopefully they don't overlap!

Awesome! Don't worry if they overlap -- it just creates a bit of ($$) pressure on them. When one of the companies called me back, after I'd left them a message, they suggested a day and time to come do the estimate. I said, "That won't work. ABC Fencing [I don't remember which now] is coming at that time." It just shows them that you're doing your homework and won't stand for the BS pricing.

In fact, even if they don't overlap, when they say something (anything), you could say that "Oh, another company told me that [say something reasonable] blah blah blah..." just so they know there are other companies in the running.

That's a good idea. Maybe I should schedule them at the same time so they can both try to beat each other's price.

But really....I'm hoping it's not more than a couple thousand. If it is, then the leash it is.

How many sides are you fencing?

PS. Miss M. is not amused with the tone of this conversation. She feels like she's worth the money (and she is). She also feels that you should not have to walk in rain or terrible snow storms. Look how she's taking YOU into account. What an angel.

I do good work, and am fair with price. If you try to beat me up to the point I'm miserable doing the work, I'll walk away. Let the other guy suffer. The whole "let them bid it out" doesn't always work in your favor. You'll get the desperate guy and not always the best.

Just something to keep in mind. It's not always just about price.
