Enjoy this normal/warm October folks... We could be hearing a lot of Whining in November.

it was finally nice to have a normal September/October and not scorching heat like other years.

Fall started perfect but should end Cold.

Hearing "Fall in CT is cold" is quite comical.. I proved with a previous post that its rarely below normal around here in the fall.

Add wind to the cold and you're screwed even more. Think about Connecticut, for example. Why is it that all of the state parks close down from Nov through Apr? Because most people don't want to be outside during those cold months. In CT, the people come out to play in the warm season, not the cold season. Winter, not summer, is the season where people spend more time indoors, in CT. So I conclude that it is the cold weather in general that is more oppressive than the summer heat in CT. People just aren't as out-and-about in the fall, winter and spring in CT as they are in the summer.
Well...............how can you explain in Northern Maine where temps are 15-20 deg colder than here---that snowmobiling, ice fishing and skiing are billion dollar businesses.

Obviously if these activities were not fun or comfortable with good clothing, they wouldn't draw thousands of toursists!!

Yea, but that was easily a 50 or even 100 year event. Nothing close to the norm

"Fall" isn't just 1 day. Lol

The temp map I posted is the general look of fall around here. High temps of 60s mostly compared to 40s and 50s in other areas.

Come on....can we really complain about a forecast like this in the coming days?

We love to complain on the East Coast! They are supposed to get snow in the upper Midwest next week!

That is due to a frontal difference on that particular day - the marked difference in temperature between the regions. The temps. in the tri-state area are very similar to southern Ohio in general - the same temps. just shifted a day later.

it cracks me up when people complain about Fall being too cold - especially when days like today (65-70) are the norm.
