Cablevision by far is the worst cable company in this state. I know people with other companies and they rarely complain even when asked. Just about every Cablevision customer I know has a number of complaints about the company and their service. I really think these towns need to start thinking about revoking their franchise. It might get them to do better. Jay

We detest Cablevision and switched to Uverse. Much prefer it.

For the most part I like Cablevision. I had to deal with Charter Communications a long time ago and I didn't like their service.

The requirement is that cable companies have to show the affiliates in the Neilsen market. The markets go by county and Fairfield is considered the NY market, so they are being "cheap" and only showing Fox5.

That was my contention also, but someone else in this thread insists that isn't the case.

Verizon is in parts of Greenwich, and maybe a little Stamford, but the phone co's are no different than the cable co's with the monopoly they buy from the towns. Most of CT is stuck with AT&T, which has the UVerse service as a "comparable" service to FIOS. TV is ok, phone is mediocre, and the Internet speed is abysmal. It's also priced a lot higher than Cablevision. Ridiculous that AT&T can't provide anything higher than 2MB upstream unless you pay through the nose - I had that with DSL in the 90's and for less money.

I'm not so sure about that (30 being owned by NBC). The networks usually only own the NY and LA affiliates, and maybe a couple of other really big cities like Chicago.
