I was attending training in Hartford the past few days and noticed that both days, all day, there were 3-4 helicopters hovering pretty high overhead.

Anyone know why?

Highway/Parkway Accidents is the first thing that comes to mind.

There weren't any accidents, and they seem to be hovering there all day at each corner of the city. Very strange.

They probably knew you were in Hartford...!

Sometimes Lifestar(s) will practice hovering techniques. How high we these in your estimation?

Reminds me of the movie Good Fellas
We had the same thing here a few months ago and they were doing maintenance on the high voltage power lines, the big towers.

Interesting. They might be even higher than 2k feet but there aren't any lines or towers in the area.

Were they hovering over I-84? They might have been monitoring traffic for the big I-84 project being planned.

JayCT is correct. There was a news story a few days ago saying we'll be seeing helicopters above Hartford. They're doing a traffic study to determine where and when the traffic is coming from. Seems silly to me. They could have just asked me and saved a lot of money on the helicopters.

Does it have anything to do with the following:

1- The New Britain to Hartford Busway
2- The removal of the Aetna Viaduct between Sisson Avenue and Asylum Streets (46 to 48 A/B)?
