Plenty of Russians, many Jewish. Seem to be concentrated on the East side of West Hartford, near Farmington Avenue. Two Russian stores. But not enough that a person who doesn't speak English would be really happy here. My friends' father, who has never been able to master English, lives near Bishop's Corner. He has a full social life here, but he drives. If he couldn't, there's not enough there that he could walk to, without being English speaking.

$5 gets you and overstuffed sandwich! You'll enjoy it - definitely check it out.

Awesome! Is there seating? I'm thinking about going with my kids this weekend. Otherwise, I'll check it out myself. Still can't wait!

So I went on Sunday morning. They had a pretty decent supply of Russian goods, some good German stuff, but nothing that I couldn't live without, at least not until some friends come over for a visit. The deli looked awesome, but I was there at 10 am and not in the mood for an overstuffed grinder. Also, the salami selection and other stuff was pretty good.

I was disappointed with the very limited beer selection. The website looks great, the store was so-so.

I'll go back for some pelmeni and smetana when visitors come, though. Maybe they'll have some Russian beer or German beer by then.
