Ditto. A great decision.

BTW, I thought I'd be able to paste the pdf of that song to you, but I couldn't. If it is online anywhere in the future, I will. But it isn't yet.

Don't know about you, but I think my mood rebounded faster after 9/11 than 12/14.

Me too, bob. I think it's a combination of two things - 1) I have little ones, and 2) It happened in our backyard.

Ditto....and in my case sort of being in education in the same state contributed too.

At least on 9/11 the terrorists were more interested in creating news and erasing a symbol of US economic power than actually individually selecting people who were targeted, whereas, Sandy Hook, well for the first time in the US, 6 and 7 year olds were the actual targets. That is what I find so personal about this, and I have no kids.

Not minimizing 9/11, but it was not out of the realm of expected terrorists actions after the 1993 WTC bombing, other than many thought the scope was impossible.

12/14 was out of the realm. Unimaginable.

Can someone provide me with the towns and departments that were the first responders to Sandy Hook Elementary?

That makes sense. I was in the WTC on 9/11 and also on 2/26/1993, and while we hoped everyone was doing what they could to keep us from being attacked again, if you worked at the WTC, you were well aware that it was still a terrorist target.

No sense whatsoever can be made out of what happened in Newtown, at least not in my mind.

John O'Neill, new 9/2011 WTC secuity chief , ex FBI agent most intent on OBL, was certain the Towers would be attacked again, and felt air was most likely option.

Newtown would not have been believed as a work of fiction.
