I'm also praying for the 1st Responders; Lord give them strength!
My oldest son is a paramedic and recently had to take some time off to catch his breath. It was the children that got to him. I can't even imagine this.

There are truly monsters among us.

A bare minimum of 4.5% of the population are sociopaths. Unfortunately, chances are good that you know a person who would commit this crime, provided they saw it to their advantage.

There was just a short press briefing saying that the scene is secure. The 18 dead children were killed execution style by the deceased gunman. This started at approx. 9:30AM this morning when a 911 call was placed and the police were immediately on scene.

Words fail me when contemplating the enormity of this tragedy. Knowing the area makes it even more poignant, especially the devastating pain for so many families for whom this began as a typical December Friday.

ETA: As to the media, it makes me sick to no end that they show images of minor children being reunited with parents, and that a child was interviewed. That should not be allowed by responsible journalistic standards, but I guess we have too few of those. /rant

FOX says it's confirmed that the gunman was 20 years old.

So so saddening!

I feel for all the victims families.

Default Sympathy from Texas

I can't imagine what the people in Connecticut are going through at the moment. Praying for extraordinary peace for all of you. Wish there was something we as Americans could do to stop this mindless violence.

There are no words. I pray for the parents of these children who are now gone.
