Hello everyone, I'm writing in regards to the commute from Hamden to Westport. I work in Wethersfield and my gf has had several job offers in the Westport area. How bad is the commute on the merrit from Hamden to Westport? Hamden seems to be the middle point between the two.

Hour plus typically. Assuming you will be taking the Merritt, traffic will tend to slow in Trumbull and be that way all the way into Westport.

I think Mike is about right... I wouldn't want to do it every day. If you do, the Merritt is the way to go.

Learn the back roads. Although it can take a long time from the backroads in Trumbull, it'll save you a lot of stress on days when traffic is especially bad.

I would move further to the west. While distance wise Hamden is halfway, time wise it is not. I have a coworker in a similar situation with he working in Glastonbury and his wife in Norwalk. They live in Milford. his commute is about an hour as is hers. Yoiur commute will not be through any problem traffic areas, while hers will be. Consider trying to make her commute as easy as possible. Jay
