I'm familiar with JC, and it's a royal PITA to get down the WS highway and through the tunnel. You can go around and over the GW but that isn't any easier.

QFT. My family is originally from JC. The tunnels are CONSTANTLY backed up, even on weekends. The GWB is a little better, but then you're contending with awful traffic from 95 on once in the Bronx and into and past the RFK bridge.

Staten Island access via the Verrazano is a bit better, so I could see maybe living south of Elizabeth. The Woodbridge Township area.
