Please recommend some decent places to eat(no chains). There are a bunch of pizza places around here, but which is the best? Any other food recommendations would be great.

One fancy dress-up places is the Inn at Mystic. Also good is Go Fish in Mystic and the Skippers Dock in Stonington. For breaksfast, try Kitchen Little. We also like CC O'Brian's in Pawcatuck, which is a sports bar with good clam chowder.

We had excellent fish and chowder at The Commoner in old town New London two weeks ago. The food was gourmet quality and reasonable.

Best Clam Chowder is at The Cove in Stonington, while the best pizza is Angie's Pizza in Mystic. Bypass Mystic Pizza which has always been overrated.

Best Fried Clam Strips is a tie: The Cove in Stonington & Angie's Pizza. Be advised that Angie's gives you a huge plate full.

I just moved here, but so far my husband and I love going to this little burger joint in Gales Ferry called Mo's. We, also, really like the lobster bisque and hot lobster roll from S&P oyster co. in Mystic.

Don't like Mystic pizza myself- Try Paul's Pasta in Groton. They make the pasta on site.
