I don't know that I agree with that at all. It depends on your definition of "nice". If nice to you means wealthier, then yes, New Canaan is nicer. I think Ridgefield is nicer, where homes are on larger lots and people generally more down to earth.
Good point. It is all a matter of personal opinion and what the OP likes best. Like I said it is hard to believe a town like Ridgefield is not considered to be the very top of the area towns but again New Canaan, Darien and Greenwich really do take that prize, if not for the state, for the entire country. I'm not so sure about their homes being on larger lots. NC does have smaller lots in some areas. But, most of the homes in NC appear to be on 2 or more acres.

True, but NC is more dense. There are about 200 more people per square mile in NC than Ridgefield.

I hate to derail the thread further, but C/D's stats say Ridgefield has 1193 people per square mile, while New Canaan has a density of 904 people per square mile. Either way, they're both quite low for CT.

Realistic for what time? Keep in mind sometimes you feel trapped because you get onto the parkway or interstate and its crawling and you try to find other routes only to find out it was a waste of time.
Greenwich to New Canaan takes 25-60 minutes in evening. So figure Rye to New Canaan in the evening is 40-70 minutes.
NC to Rye in the morning should take anywhere from 30-45 minutes. If there's an accident add 15-30 minutes and thats being conservative at times.
Or the greenwich to NC in the evening doesn't matter?
