Hi! New to the forum
My husband and I will be looking to move to (hopefully) East Granby (If not there either Windsor, Windsor Locks or Bloomfield) sometime between December and February (timing not locked in stone yet).
We have a 2 year old daughter and will need to rent hopefully either a single family home, or a townhouse/duplex. Besides the Courant or Apartments.com any idea of a good resource for RENTALS in the area? We are moving from Springfield,MA and need a break from homeowning for a while, but definitely do not want to go back to high rise major apt complexes either.
Thanks in advance!

Check craigslist.com for listings in the area. There are many condos in that area and the owners may advertise there to rent because it is free. Jay

Thanks! It would have never occurred to me to look on Craigslist?
Any other suggestions for nice cities/towns to live in between Hartford and SPringfield (I work in Hartford, he works in Springfield)?
We really like the small townness to East Granby and that it is a little more rural.

There are many towns that are convenient to both. Without knowing what you are looking for and your price range, I would suggest Granby, East Granby, Suffield, Enfield, Somers and East Windsor. Not sure if these towns have rentals with what you are looking for.
I agree that East Granby is very nice, but you might also check out Granby. It is a little bigger but still retains its rural character and it is convenient to some shopping. I find that there are a lot of very friendly people in Granby. Not sure why. Jay

We are looking for either a 2 bdrom or 3 bdrm home or townhouse/condo. Must be rental. No more than $1200/month (preferably $1000/month). We HOPE to find somewhere we like and stay until we are ready to build our own home, which will not be for at least 5 more years. We have a 2 year old, so I'd like the schools to be decent for when she starts kindergarten in 3 years, though moving is not out of the question, I really really hate moving so I'd prefer to find someplace I like and stay there. I've looked a little at Granby but it doesn't appear to have rental opportunities.

In your budget, you're probably going to find something that's 2 bedroom, probably an apt. Maybe you can find one in a multi-family house in one of the towns you like.
