Does anybody drive South towards/past Fairfield from Trumbull in rush hour M-F? I'm wondering how long it takes? I know it's about 7 or so minutes without traffic, but wondering if this time increases drastically during rush hour. Thank you!

I'd plan on an extra 5-10 minutes during rush hour if on the parkway.

I am in Trumbull today and drove to it very early this morning. I stopped at the northbound Merritt Parkway Mobil station near exit 46 in Fairfield at 6:45am today, and the southbound side was bumper to bumper to give you an idea.....yes, 6:45am it was like that!

Expect a 20-35 minute drive along the Merritt from exits 49-42 during rush hour.

During rush hour take the back roads, much easier and hassle free. What part of Trumbull are you coming from and what part of Fairfield are you going to?? I do this about once a week or so, DM me your areas your traveling and I'll send you directions.

I'm at the Stratford/Trumbull border.

I don't bother getting on the parkway until 44(Black Rock Turnpike).

It's funny, on my morning drive WCBS NewsRadio 88 is always talking about southbound Merritt traffic by/ending at the "Burr Street overpass" which I believe is between exits 44 and 45

Yah, Burr street is the first overpass after Black Rick Turnpike (exit 44). That's heading southbound obviously and it's between exit 44 and 42 in Westport (forgot what street. Route 53/57 maybe?? Does that seem right).

I think you'd do better avoiding the Parkway.
