Maybe if you're of one day, try it, and see what your timing is that morning.
There is no traffic at 6:30am in Hamden, but that puts her at 7:00-7:30 through Fairfield through Norwalk. There will be traffic in those towns, on both thoroughfares.

I commute the opposite direction, from Westchester into either Stamford, Norwalk, Trumbull or Bridgeport depending on the day. Usually (but not always) I'm on the road quite early (like in the 6:30-7am timeframe). I often unfortunately see tons of traffic on the "other side" of both the Merritt and I-95, particularly between Trumbull/Bridgeport and Stamford even at that early hour. Please keep that in mind in planning your travel time.

Just remember that it's only 6 months and you're fortunately in a situation where you can easily move, i.e. you don't have a longer-term lease to debate breaking or have owned property you have to try and sell. Good luck!

Takes me 30 minutes from Wilton to Greenwich 8am to 8:30am. Like I said.. take one morning and try the commute.

If they can be in the Westport area by 7am there is no reason why they cant be in Stamford by 7:30am unless there's an accident. But again... I agree on an earlier time than I said... 6-6:15am is fine.

Going further... Have you tried asking your landlord if you can break the lease early? Keep in mind as a landlord its not fun when you get that call you have to start interviewing new prospects 6 months earlier. So picture being in your normal stressful life routines and now you have to advertise, interview, and find a new tenant many months before you thought you would..but its worth a shot. You can even offer to forfeit your deposit since you'll save on time, gas, and wear and tear over 6 months time.
