but I think it got dropped down to a moving violation like using your phone while driving so instead of the $220 fine for speeding I only had to pay like $20
I'd think using your phone while driving is worse than going 70,

If we're talking about on the highway, then this is true most of the time. 70 mph on a highway under decent road conditions is not dangerous in most cars.

That's why I drive 80 mph. If I'm going to get a ticket, I want it to be a good one.... A ticket for 70 mph would make me angry, while a ticket for 80 mph would make me laugh, because I would know I deserved it.

I don't know... here in the valley on Route 8, it's in your best interest to go, at minimum, 65mph.

The number of times I would set my cruise to 70mph and watch as people pass me in both the left and right lanes!

I had my cruise set on 70 this morning on route 2 while I ate my bagel. I was one of the slowest cars on the road.

In my opinion, cell phone use, and distracted driving (including bagel eating) is much more of a hazard than speeding. Cars today have much more stability and safety at 75 than of 30 years ago, while the people at the helm are just as bad at multi-tasking as they were 30 years ago.

I say crack down more on cell phone and distracted driving with harsher fines than 10-15 over the speed limit.

I tested out my bike on route 8. Got to 95 pretty easily. Practically no one to worry about!

I can't stand driving on Route 8. I going 70 people are either going 100 or 50. So you pass someone going 50 and then as your in the passing lane someone comes flying up going 100. Sometimes just have enough and refuse to move while they tailgate they usually go around me. Then bikers there are a lot of safe reasonable bikers, but there are these bikers flying in and out of traffic at 90 or driving down the middle lane it's annoying.
