Help me decide:

1. Drive in to Westchester,NY from Orange to go to work and try to leave early (At my job, they would stay open if a nuke was headed towards the building) and risk a bad ride home. Note that I take the Merritt.....

2. Stay home......

My wife commutes with me so I am hoping her boss will let her off and work from home......

I say 2 Unless you can leave before 1pm. Its so hard pin pointing the times. Those little details we wont know about mixing/rain/ heavy stuff until tomorrow morning. This is the toughest time frame for commuters! I am scared we'll see trapped cars in the evening and night with this storm because of it.

Here are the players on the field. 1 and 2 will meet. #3 supplying the cold air. Textbook

Definately dont want to risk getting stuck. Remember that little snow storm in Nov after Sandy? Took me 5 1/2 hours to get home that night.....that was a nightmare......and that was a little snow. I have the option to take off if I need to......just have to hope my wife can stay home.

Quick look at the long range... We have Rain on Monday. Not good..not good for flooding.

We have more snow Friday into Saturday night next week. (few inches)

For tomorrow & Saturday Coastal Flooding from the surge, High Winds, Blizzard conditions, Temps in the 20s.

Keep in mind... Power companies will have a really hard time and maybe not even venture out for power outages at the height of it.

Don't worry about roof collapse unless its flat or a plastic shed or unless you're in the area getting over 2 feet. The rain Monday might further weigh it down.

If you've got a car that can handle snow, go to work. If not, either stay home or be very careful. Seriously, just don't die.

Ok weather experts------We're heading for Wilmington NC tomorrow---no choice, have to go, leaving from Seymour area.
Will leave at 5 AM, go 84W to 81 South---the plan is to be far enough over in PA to avoid serious road conditions.
We are traveling in a GMC Sierra crew cab 4x4, heavy truck, towing a small flatbed trailer with furniture (the kind people tow riding mowers on)

Should we leave earlier?

Leave a tad earlier and just go straight south... don't go to PA... the snow will develop over PA in the morning, If you drive south you will hit Rain the farther south you go. Once you pass Newark you'll just deal with rain. Good luck. Should be light snow around NYC at that time...light.
