Hubby's out with the snowblower. I had already cleared around 3 inches with the regular shovel, and moved that snow onto the lawn (so there was no buildup on the edge of the driveway). So that means - not including that 3 inches - there's around 9 inches. That makes it a good foot of snow, in total so far, at Chez AnonChick.

Because he remembers 1978 and if he didn't and the storm was worse, people would screaming that he didn't do enough.

Isn't it crazy how we never feared power outages so much? Now we feel mortal every time there's a chance, lol.

That said, I put the heat up a little and were fully stocked on canned edibles.

Went out at 5 to snowblow, it's really light and powdery but the wind turned my face to ice, cover up with a mask, muffler or scarf if you go out.

Laughed out loud, because it's true.
I drove on 95N from New Haven at 3pm and there were more cars than I was expecting, and even more trucks. The backup behind the truck that went off the highway in Guilford seemed to be 50% trucks, including one which slid off the roadway onto the travel, creating a secondary choke point.

Wow I just came in from digging the drift out from under the front spoiler and around the sides of my car and AnonHubby's pickup truck, after he did the snowblowing thang. In under 10 minutes I was covered in snow. I pushed the shovel forward, and a gust of wind would push the snow right back in my face. I'd turn around, to get it from the other side, and the wind would shift and smack me upside the head again.

Snow's blowing sideways half the time, in a general downish direction the rest of the time. It's loud - loud snow. Loud obnoxious snow. I hate snow. My back yard's gonna look SO pretty in the morning. I hate it though.

Not too windy here in Lebanon, good luck on the shore. I hope your power stays on!

Right on schedule... Incredible rates now. Reports over 10" coming in from New Haven and Middlesex counties. unconfirmed 15" on Long Island. These bands will continue to rotate counterclockwise.

Now until early morning is the point where we cant keep up with the totals coming in out there. White is moderate snows, pinks are very heavy rates. Can anyone confirm this??

Heavy snow here, blowing sideways, visibility is um..well I can see a glow from the street lamp at the end of the block (I live in the corner house), but I can't see the street itself, or the house across the street. So visibility is less than um - 500 feet, more or less.
