THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAUNTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM
WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM LATE THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH
SATURDAY MORNING.

* LOCATIONS...NORTHERN CONNECTICUT.

* HAZARD TYPES...HEAVY SNOW.

* ACCUMULATIONS...HIGH CONFIDENCE OF 6 INCHES OR MORE OF SNOW. THE
POTENTIAL EXISTS FOR A FOOT OR MORE OF SNOW IN SOME LOCATIONS

I'm not sure what the RPM model is but WOW! (Note: Source claims even the Euro is not quite this "optimistic" west of New Haven and none of the other models show anything near this except for Boston/eastern New England):

Good site to see what the NAM model shows for your area. Just scroll down pick the state and the closest station near you. You can also choose the GFS right below the station selection.

NCEP Model Time-Series (BUFR) Forecast Hourly Weather Data

Here's Bridgeport. Notice starts as snow, warm air moves in, but cold air crashes as the storm bombs and snows after 7pm. Shows .40" liquid as snow = 3-5"

This is crazy indeed, and would rival the 1/11/11 storm total for Hartford at least. What's the chance that these totals will go down...either shifting eastward or due to dry slotting etc.?
